Second Chance Chest (Test Realm)

According to the patch notes, many final bosses (world-enders) will now have a Second Chance chest that gives you another shot at whatever drop item you're trying to get - for a price.



I chose MooShu's Jade Oni to test this out so I wouldn't have to wade through an instance just to reach her. When I defeated her, she left this chest behind.



I don't know if other bosses are cheaper, but the Jade Oni's chest starts at 50 Crowns and goes up by 50 each try after that. According to the patch notes, "These chests can only be used a certain number of times per day per character." I stopped after a sixth dip in the chest so it's at least six tries.



This was the most interesting item, a big Ninja Pig statue holding up a katana; the tip sparkles from time to time. The statue says it's Limit 1, but it came up on two of my chest picks. And since I already had one, the second just vanished, so that was a wasted try. Hopefully KI would fix that bug so Limit 1 items can't drop more than once.

I'd be a lot more interested in the Second Chance chests if there were some option to use Gold as well as Crowns. My last one cost 300 Crowns, bringing my total spent up to 1050 Crowns. The price stacks up a lot quicker than you realize, and that's real-world money, not game points. I'll take a pass.
